Valentines Day Mantle DIY & Tutorials with Silhouette Cameo

Valentines Day Crafts with Toddlers, DIY & Tutorial!

Happy Sunday! Valentines Day is just around the corner (okay maybe it’s three weeks away, but close enough!) and the Hubby is out-of-town so the perfect excuse for a weekend of Valentines crafts and movies!

First we made that cute pendant banner and it was super easy to throw together! All you need is some twine or ribbon, clothespins and some card stock. I cut out these simple pendants on my Silhouette Cameo and voila, a quick and easy piece to add to our mantle! Add some vases we had around the house and a cute craft Miss L completed, and it was perfect.

Valentines Day Painting Toddler Craft DIY TutorialFun & Easy Toddler Craft: Heart painting

Materials:

  • Two Pieces of White Cardstock (8″ x 10″ or appropriate size for your frame!)
  • Finger Paints (we used pinks, reds and purples)
  • Picture Frame
  • Silhouette & Computer

Steps:

Now this is the easy part… set the toddler up with the paints + one sheet of paper and let them paint their hearts out! We (Miss L) started with some brush painting and then switched to finger painting until our paper was covered.

On the other sheet of cardstock use your silhouette to cut out a simple heart shape, quite large on the entire sheet. The outside piece from the cutout will be used, the inside heart shape can be used however, we kept ours for another painting craft!

Once the painted paper has dried and the heart is cut on the second sheet of paper, assemble the two pieces in your frame and viola! A cute and adorable decor piece that was exactly what we needed to get our house in the Valentines vibe!
