Palm Springs with Kids, Vacay Edition Part One

Palm Springs has been treating us well and the kids have adjusted quite well to the “pool-side” carefree life in the sun! Over our two weeks in the Palm Springs area we were able to get in lots of activities between lazy pools days, the zoo, a little shopping, and much more. Here are our top three kid-approved favourite activities in the Palm Springs area…

1. Living Desert Zoo

This is always a must for us and was by far one of Miss L’s favorite outings. They suggest about 4hours to get in the whole park, but with toddlers I would definitely suggest scheduling a full day for this – between the face painting, giraffe feedings, petting zoo, camel rides, and more it took us an afternoon just to get in the Africa side of the park! There were a few activities that cost more cash once you got in.. in our opinion the camel rides and face painting – totally worth it, the giraffe feeding – watching from the railing right beside was just as exciting instead of standing in line to see them for just a moment.Face Paint at Living Desert Zoo

2. Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert

We haven’t been here in years (and I mean years! Since I was just a kid!) and it was a hit! I forgot how much fun (and interactive!) stuff there is to do here – from the grocery store, pizza parlour, vet clinic, arts & craft area, and so much more! Definitely could spend a day here, but be prepared… kids will NOT want to leave, but heading for ice cream after usually helps 😉

3. Oasis Pool @ Morongo Casino Resort

This was an absolute blast… definitely if you are planning a trip, set aside a whole day for this! Even with the little seven-month old and almost four-year-old we were able to spend a whole day there (7 hours to be exact!) and it was awesome. Going with a group is awesome and if you do have a group and are planning a day trip.. I would totally recommend the cabana rental! Great for catching some shade (or for little ones to take a quick nap) and comes with a little mini-fridge with water/fruit and room to store any other drinks you may bring/order!
