Fall Weddings: A few of my favourite finds and DIYs!

Fall is just around the corner, two weeks away to the official first day to be exact, can you believe it?! I feel like just yesterday it was spring, and summer… well you could have blinked and missed that! It has been a whirl wind year here between bridal showers, summer weddings, parties, someones very special first birthday, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

But to the point of this post… with fall just around the corner I wanted to share a few of my favourite fall wedding ideas and, because I love a good DIY, a few DIYs for the DIY brides out there! So here it is… Continue reading

Mint, White & Gold Wedding Invite Peonies

It’s all in the Details: Wedding Invitations

Wedding season is going to be here before we know it and I could not be more excited for two reasons… (a) all the current and upcoming wedding projects and (b) my brother and future sister-in-laws wedding!

Not going to lie… when my soon-to-be sister-in-law gave me the opportunity to try out some designs on a wedding invite for her, I was beyond excited (may have even squealed a little) and I couldn’t be more in love with how they all came together!

First let me tell you of their wedding venue, a winery, it is gorgeous and full of so much character already on its own which, from what I have heard of the bride-to-be’s plans, is going to beautifully accented by the wedding decor.  For the wedding invites I felt we almost brought a teaser of the wedding day forward, the design was kept simple yet still elegant… from the soft mint background and simple white peonies and text, but then the gold accents were done in the perfect amount from the gold glitter buds on the invite front to the gold band and envelopes. But enough from me, check them out for yourself…

And with all this wedding talk and wedding projects going on in my little craft space lately I thought I would share one more wedding invite shot from one of my first wedding projects, my very own wedding… Continue reading

Diamond Ring Wine Charm

Bridal Shower for a Beach Wedding

My beautiful sister-in-law said I Do! in Mexico earlier this month and I got the honor of helping the mothers out with making the bridal shower invitations and decorations last month…

The invites were my favorite part – sea shells! The wine glass ring charms were another hit; oversized diamond ring cut outs to mark your wine glass. The Meet the Bridesmaids was another cute accessory… the bride wrote a cute note on each of her girls and matched with some pictures was a great touch checked out by all at the shower.

Beach Themed Bridal Shower

The mothers threw a great party for the bride and I was honored to get to provide some of my creations for the event!

A Lake Wedding

One of the highlights of my summer…. the wedding at the lake, specifically my Uncle (and now officially) new Auntie’s wedding. It was a small gathering of friends and family, simple, low-key, and absolutely perfect!

Here’s a few of the pieces I put together… some banners, a few designs for guest book page and directional signage, and what not. I also had a chance to try something new with my Silhouette Came: heat transfer vinyl and made some Amigo pocket squares and loved how they turned out (definitely expect more htv projects in the near future). But my favourite part: Cupcakes in a Jar! I can only take credit for the labels and pushing the idea, but it turned out awesome (and delicious!). Which leads me to this… Continue reading

Keep Calm & Marry On

It may be many months late, but here it is: the wedding post! I wrote these two notes below on the two mornings with the intent of posting them on my blog here that I had planned on starting many months ago, but as late as it is, here they finally are:

PART I – 8:00am, August 3rd
I can’t believe it – today is the day I get to marry by best friend, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day! Preparation the past few days went off with out a hitch and everything looks absolutely perfect! My prep is done and the rest is in the hands of some very capable and amazing friends and family! Can’t wait to walk down the aisle…. bring on the hair and makeup!
PART II – 8:00am, August 4th
Perfection is all I have to say about the day. It was absolutely perfect, every detail, every event, everything was perfect! I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day – it truly was my dream wedding! And the best part.. walking down the aisle and seeing all my friends and family there, so full of love and support (and a few tears), and the best part – seeing Dustin standing at the end of the aisle waiting for me…

The Theme & Decor…

It took us a while to decide on our theme, we flipped and flopped between many, and then we chose colours: orange & silver, and then the “theme” came.. crowns and “Keep Calm”.. that was going to be are starting ground and then we ran with it and made something of it even better then I could have ever imagined!

The Invitations…

We custom designed and made our wedding invitations (with some ‘labour’ from our great bridesmaids and groomsmen)! The first was our save the dates, and then a few months closer too the invitation which included, location/hotel information, itinerary for the big day, and RSVP cards.

The Wedding Decor…

We definitely stuck with the colour scheme here (orange and silver) from the orange table runners, silver centre pieces, orange head table back drop, and more. There were a few key items I would had listed as my “must haves” for the wedding, a tiered cupcake display and photo booth! And yes, we had them both and more! So let’s go through it piece by piece:

The Head Table…

The Guest Tables..

The guest tables were complete with orange table runners, custom favour boxes at each seat with custom M&M treats, and activity books/bags for the kids seats.

The Guest Book , Seating Chart & Entrance…

We decided on a puzzle for the guest book, everyone signed a piece of the puzzle. The entrance area was defined by many large columns and drapery. The guest book was another one of my favourite pieces, we found some old window panes which we attached together and than the table seating was written out on each pane.

The Cake/Cupcakes and More…

The Cupcakes were one of my favourite parts (though it seems I did have many, many favourite parts, but can you blame a girl?). All the cupcakes were done by my amazing cousin / bridesmaid, The Cupcake Machine!
